Summary

Chemotherapy, in its most general sense, is the treatment
of disease by chemicals especially by killing
micro-organisms or cancerous cells. In popular usage, it
refers to drugs used to treat cancer or the combination of
these drugs into a formulation for specific types of cancer.
Most commonly, chemotherapy acts by killing cells that
divide rapidly, as that is one of the main properties of
cancer cells. This means that it also harms cells that
divide rapidly under normal circumstances: cells in the bone
marrow, digestive tract and hair follicles. This
results in the most common side effects of chemotherapy -
decreased production of blood cells, inflammation of the
lining of the digestive tract, and hair loss.
Under the procedures tab others share their experiences
in how essential oils, blends, and other products help
strengthen the body during this process. This include
rebuilding blood cells, restoring digestive functions, and
helping with depression and fear during a very invasive
process.

Experiences and Testimonials of others
Anonymous - Has anyone had experiences
with oils helping someone undergoing chemotherapy?
BK - My father found that essential oils
were very supportive during his chemotherapy, especially
Balance and Serenity blends when he became afraid or
depressed. We were very open with the doctor about the
essential oils. He was skeptical at first, but then came to
believe that oils did not interfere with cancer treatment.
If anything, he came to recognize that the oils enhanced the
treatment and speed the detoxification of the chemotherapy.
The Life Long
Wellness supplements were amazing during treatment. My
father combined them with a diet of raw foods and fresh
fruit and vegetable juices. The doctor was always astounded
by his blood work. He also never felt the extreme fatigue
that normally happens during chemotherapy.
A spinal technique will rejuvenate and bring much needed
physical and emotional comfort. (Edit: Consider using Dr.
Hill's AromaTouch
Technique)
Cypress oil and On Guard blend helped stimulate white
corpuscle production and kept his immune system strong.
Diffuse, apply topically, or just breathe it in every day
to keep the body's defenses strong. The chemotherapy
destroyed his sense of taste and smell, and he experienced
that dreadful metallic taste during treatments. We would
have water with lemon and peppermint nearby to counter the
taste.
We had him take a quality probiotic at night to
repopulate the healthy bacteria in the gut. (Edit: doTerra
now has PB Assist for this) We would add virgin
coconut oil to flavored smoothies to get him nutrition when
he didn’t feel like eating. He loved the smell of Citrus
Bliss and Balance, so we always had a diffuser running
nearby. We did a capsule full of grapefruit (for the
D-Limonene) .
Oils that are leading the cancer research include
frankincense, lavender, sandalwood, lemongrass, lemon and
other citrus oils. Most oils inhibit cellular mutations,
kill off mutated cells, and feed healthy cells, so use them
with confidence.
Mental attitude, loving touch, calming music and
spiritual faith are key to the healing process, I also
recommend using any emotional blends liberally to stay
positive.
Kat Lee - I heard
that it was best if essential oils were stopped 2 days prior
to chemotherapy and then not used for about 9 days after
chemotherapy. My question is, why would you need to
stop the oils during and right after chemo?
Pat - If he continues on with the oils
and is aggressive and following the protocol, then he is
doing all he possibly can do. As for stopping the oils
before chemotherapy, I just don't know why you would need to
do that. That is something I don't know about. I know of
those who have continued it through chemotherapy and
radiation. They were not sick, did not lose their hair, and
felt pretty good.
