form in the gall bladder or the ducts from the gall bladder.
These are hard deposits that vary in size from miniscule to
as large as a golf ball. There are two types of gallstones,
those deposits composed of cholesterol (nothing to do with
cholesterol in the blood stream) and those composed of
bilirubin. The former are more common and the latter
is a normal waste product of the breakdown of blood cells in
The gallbladder itself is under the liver and is located
on the front right side just below the rib cage. The liver,
gall bladder and pancreas help in the digestive process by
producing and storing bile and digestive enzymes. Bile
assists in digesting fats and high cholesterol foods. It is
produced in the liver and stored in the gallbladder from
where it is injected into the small intestines through the
common bile duct as needed.
Many times the gallstones can go undetected. If the do
travel to the cystic duct or the common bile duct there can
be cramping pain in the middle to right upper abdomen. If
the stone passes into the small intestine the pain will go
away. Gallstones are more common among women, those over 40,
Native Americans and Hispanics. The University of Maryland
reports that the risk of gallstones increases with the
number of children a woman has given birth to but this
increased risk is offset by breastfeeding. Also that women
who use hormone replacement therapy are at higher risk as
are those who have had rapid weight loss followed by weight

To eliminate gallstones:
Prepare the following mixture:
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 drops Lemon essential oil
1/2 squeezed lemon
Warm olive oil and lemon juice before adding Lemon
Drink this mixture every 20 minutes for 4 hours before
retiring to bed. (Some recommend drinking with a sports
straw deep in the mouth so the distasteful olive oil
bypasses the taste buds.)
Then when going to bed, curl up on right side (liver is
on right side of body - gallbladder is pressed against
the visceral surface of the right lobe of the liver).
Gallstones may be seen floating in toilet after
urinating the following morning.
For pain relief:
Apply 1 tablespoon castor oil with 3 - 5 drops DigestZen

Suzanne H - What
oils can be used for Gall Bladder attack?
Pat - I have attached a couple of
protocols regarding gall bladder.
#1 – Acute gall bladder pain
Take every 20 min, 4 hours before
• Warm 2 tablespoons of olive oil w/2
drops CPTG Lemon essential oil
• Half a lemon
For a more gentle approach (coconut oil is
much more palatable, but is not as quick as olive oil), take
every 30 min, 6 hours before bedtime:
• Warm 2 tablespoons of warm virgin
coconut oil w/2 drops CPTG Lemon essential oil
• Half a lemon
When you go to bed, lay on you right side.
You will likely expel several stones sometime at night.
For immediate pain relief: Some have found
relief adding 2 drops of Lavender to 12-18 oz of water in a
water bottle. Sip consistently, shaking well
before each sip.
If you are prone to gall bladder attacks,
on and off over time, always add a drop of lemon essential
to your water. It will help prevent attacks.

#2 – Gallstones by Elaine - Natural remedy for
1/2 C virgin/cold
pressed olive oil mixed with 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon juice
(probably doTERRA's lemon would also be good, but haven't
tried it yet).
Drink it down
immediately before getting into bed at night. Use a straw if
you don't want to coat your whole mouth with oil! Curl up on
your right side (liver is on right side of body -
gallbladder is pressed against the visceral surface of the
right lobe of the liver). In the morning you will see
gallstones floating in the toilet!
I've used this
process for years and recommended it to my clients (I'm a
Life Skills and Energy Wellness Coach & massage therapist).
They've been able to cancel their GB surgery because they've
passed their stones and the pain so easily.
RWS - Definitely do the olive oil and
lemon juice cleanse. To make the mixture more palatable
shake vigorously then drink through a straw.
I discovered doTERRA thanks to a gallbladder not
functioning. I muscle tested for 10 drops Thyme, 5 drops
Ylang Ylang twice per day in capsule. After two days I was
much better. After two weeks felt better than I had in
For pain relief, apply a tablespoon of castor oil over
the gallbladder then several drops DigestZen over that.
Cover with a cotton cloth/hand towel and heating pad over
that. You will feel much better.
JRW - I tried the protocol by Elaine
Monday night and only got rid of one stone (I think) I
haven't tried the other two yet. I have between 6-12 stones
possibly more. I didn't have any lemon juice so I just put
2-5 drops of lemon oil in 1/2 cup water and then to help it
go down better I sipped a little bit of apple juice in
between gulps cause the olive oil is DISGUSTING!
Also this is what a friend recommended to me to use:
Gallbladder in layers or blend (I'm currently using these in
a blend and not sure if it's as effective as doing them one
by one in layers, but I'll give it a few more days/weeks to
see) You'll want to dilute it as it can cause skin
irritation. I apply to my back side and front.
Grapefruit (I really like this one seems
to calm things down after a bit)
I haven't been using the Peppermint because I am
breastfeeding. I just use 2 drops of each oils under the
tongue. For the blend, I did 20 drops of each oil. I
just started using these oils and feel I need to keep using
them for quite some time to really see if they help, but I
feel like they are.
Brenda - I have used the methods
described above and the olive oil was the easiest and most
effective for me. In addition to the olive oil concoction, I
fasted for 4 days, drinking fresh juice and water only. The
idea is to give your body some rest; also when you then
drink the olive oil it causes your gall bladder to react,
which in turn forces the stones out. Yes, it tastes pretty
nasty, but it is better than surgery! If you place the end
of a big sports straw at the back of your mouth you will
bypass the taste buds and it makes it more tolerable. In
addition to the protocol, I was instructed to drink a bottle
of magnesium citrate the next morning and stay close to
home. By noon I was able to eat a light vegetable soup, and
I felt great! My chiropractor guided me with this at least
20 years ago. I have done it at least 15-20 times over the
years, and guess what? I still have my gall bladder!
Loryjean - My niece
has been diagnosed with gallstones; some in her bile duct. I
could find Lavender and Rosemary recommended; does anyone
know of anything else, or a specific protocol I could
Brooke - I don't know exactly what would
help with the "stones' per se but I know that lecithin and
Lemon work really well to help the gallbladder. My mom
takes 3 -120mg capsules of lecithin every morning and night,
and puts Lemon essential oil in her water all day long.
Chris - I was diagnosed with gallstones
years ago and chose not to have my gallbladder removed. One
thing that is so very important is to stay away from any
type of fried foods. Hope that will help some.
Maria - Have her put Lemon in her drinking water and use the
On Guard and DigestZen internally in capsules. My family has
often used "Dr. Hulda's Gallbladder Cleanse" and I've passed
numerous gallstones myself using this cleanse. You can
Google this and it will pull up the protocol. I prefer the
Grapefruit juice over the Lemon juice.
JJ - Stan Burroughs is a very good
cleans. I use it every 6 months whether I have symptoms or
not. Dr. Hulda's is more aggressive if you are severely
suffering from liver problems or kidney and gallbladder
stones. You can find these both on the Internet. As for
oils to help supplement your efforts, I agree with others
that Grapefruit, Lemon, Clove, and Peppermint help. Drink
and apply topically.
Shay - My friend is
pregnant and just found out she has gallstones. What oils
would be safe during pregnancy and get rid of gallstones,
and how would she take them?
Lil - A few drops of On Guard will kill
the pain, stop the diarrhea, and keep the nausea if she has
it. I'm speaking from first person here; I've been there and
done that. A few drops in a glass of water when there is
pain (or directly under the tongue if she can). Otherwise, I
would not worry about the stones until after the baby is
born. Then I would do a cleanse with pure apple juice,
water, Lemon juice, and olive oil. Then, no more stones.
Also in the meantime, I would always add Lemon oil in my
water every day. I would not be surprised if all the stones
were gone by the time the baby arrives.
Blessings to your friend, her precious unborn child, and
YOU for caring and serving others!
