Summary of how oils can help
Application: For heartburn ginger,
peppermint, and/or sandalwood and the digestive blend are
recommended. Use the same application as for general
stomach disorders, including taking internally. These
include mixing 1 or 2 drops of oil with a teaspoon of honey
or agave, ingest in a ¼ cup of water or juice, or use a gel
cap. You can mix peppermint or ginger with a carrier oil and
massage the abdomen with the ointment.
Maggie Tisserand, Aromatherapy for Women speaks
very highly of sandalwood for heartburn during pregnancy.
Her personal use was taking one drop internally. Our
recommendation would be to seek professional confirmation of
such a self-help procedure.
Procedures (protocols) other folks
recommend
Anon - I have suffered from
heartburn for years and had been taking 40mg (a high dose) of
Nexium per day when I heard Dr. Hill's recommendation to use
essential oils. I began with 10 drops of DigestZen (boy, I
can't tell you enough what a perfect name that is for this
blend...especially the Zen part!!) with 4 drops of Peppermint in
capsules twice a day. I completely stopped the Nexium
while doing this. After 3 weeks of this routine, I began
to taper off the amount of both oils and now I am down to 3
drops of DigestZen and 1 drop of Peppermint twice a day and
sometimes only once a day.
Especially for Kids protocols
folks recommend for children
JCM - I have put DigestZen on the
bottom of my infant grandson's feet and it has stopped
his acid reflux. Just dilute it 50/50. I also let him
suck my finger with it diluted on my hand. Hope this
helps. A little goes a long way.
