Infections
The kidneys are the vital organs that regulate the
composition of the blood as it is circulated throughout the
body. With a series of complex microscopic mechanisms it
maintains the volume of blood and water in the body, helps
maintain the ph level and
various
ions in the blood, and removes the waste through the ureters
to the bladder. Each person has two kidneys located just
below the rib cage on each side of the back. Blood is
pumped from the heart to the kidneys where it is filtered
through thousands of microscopic filtering units, known as
the glomerulus (part of the nephron), that remove waste such
as urea, uric acid, and creatine. As the kidneys
maintain homeostatis in the body they also remove sulfate
and phenol waste along with excess chloride, potassium, and
sodium ions. These, along with excess water are
filtered out and diverted to the ureter tubes and on to the
bladder for expulsion as urine.
If the kidneys are not functioning correctly serious
problems may occur since they remove toxins and maintain the
quality of the blood. Failure of the kidneys (called
renal failure) can happen in a number of ways and can come
from many sources. Many conditions are slow developing
such that years can go by without noticeable symptoms. With
severe problems one kidney can be removed and the remaining
kidney can maintain a good quality of life. If both
kidneys have deteriorated then another extreme measure is
periodic dialysis wherein an external device cleanses the
blood.
Injury or bruising can affect the function of the kidneys
and beyond this there are three general classes of problems
that can occur, obstructions, infections, and glomerular
diseases. The latter being damage to the basic
filtering unit within the kidney.
Obstructions. The most common type
of obstruction is kidney stones (see separate page on kidney
stones) but tumors and other situations can impair
kidney functions.
Infections. An infection anywhere
in the urinary tract (see UTI) is uncomfortable but if it is
in the kidneys, know as pyelonephritis, it becomes serious.
Such an infection can spread from the urethra or bladder if
untreated or can come from other infections elsewhere in the
body through the bloodstream.
Glomerular diseases. In these
diseases the microscopic filtering units in the kidneys
become damaged and unable to properly filter the blood.
The results may be swelling in some body tissue as excess
water is not filtered from the blood (edema in the lower
legs, puffy eyes, swelling in stomach area). Or, as
the nephrons become inflamed it can lead to protein or blood
in the urine. Blood in the urine can appear as blood
or turn the urine a brown color. These kidney
condition can be hereditary or tied to other conditions such
as diabetes or high blood pressure. Another source can
be infections that go to the kidneys and may also attack the
nephrons causing inflammation and show these symptoms.
They may also be associated with some autoimmune disorders
such as Goodpasture’s syndrome or lupus (systemic lupus
erythematosus, SLE) where the body mistakenly attacks itself
and destroys tissue in the kidney.

Other: A
variety of root causes such as infection, tumors, autoimmune
can cause damage to kidney tissue (nephrons).
Therefore it is wise to understand the root cause.
Other pages describe essential oils for
infections,
cancerous tumors, and
autoimmune diseases.
Also consider:
•
Keeping the body fully hydrate is most often mentioned to
minimize kidney problems. A minimum of 6 - 8 glasses
of water per day. Many like to add 1 or 2 drops of
lemon essential oil to each glass of water.
• Zendocrine
Detoxification Complex, is a combination of whole food extracts to
provide support for the body's cleansing organs
including the kidneys. This and other cleanses should
be considered.
•
Nutritional balance and promoting homeostasis will give the
body systems the full support to correct problems. The
Life Long Vitality
supplements coupled with periodic
AromaTouch
technique massages should be included.
•
Frankincense, helichrysum, and other oils are know for their
regenerative properties to help damaged tissue mend and
rebuild.
Experiences and Testimonials of others
Fred - My name is
Fred and my buddy gave me his kidney, when I needed a
donator. The doctors say that I'll be on
medication for the rest of my life, because of the risks
that my body will consider it a foreign object and then
reject it. Is there anything that could help
with this, to reduce the medication or come off of it
completely so that I may eat grapefruit again?
Pat - I would suggest that you go on the
probiotic PB Assist. It is an incredible way to build your
immune system. Also a protocol of oils that you would use
daily to build your immune system and strengthen your whole
body (such as the AromaTouch technique).
Michelle - I need
to know what oils you would suggest for this situation. My
neighbor's husband had a kidney transplant about 15 to 20
years ago. He was doing fine until he got bladder cancer.
The chemo damaged the kidney, so now the cancer they think
is mostly gone, but his kidney has failed so he is on
dialysis. I was going to start him on the cancer protocol,
but one of the things it calls for is the wild orange and he
can't even eat an orange. He has to avoid all foods with
phosphorus and potassium. Does anyone know if the oils like
the wild orange contain the potassium and such that the
actual orange does? They want to treat his cancer with a
form of TB that they inject directly into the bladder which
I guess kills the cancer cells, but I would really like to
see him get on the cancer protocol and the wellness pack. I
just need to make sure it doesn't have anything that would
cause problems with his dialysis. Please let me know if you
have any ideas that may help.
Tamalu - A good rule of thumb is: if it
creates more anxiety than peace, try something else. The
body heals best when there is peace. Leave out the wild
orange and use lemon and the other anti-tumoral oils. This
would be any of the citrus oils, or others such as cinnamon,
clove, lavender, thyme, white fir, or lemongrass.
Pat - The testing that has been done
with frankincense has proven to kill cancer cells in bladder
cancer. So getting him on the cancer protocol is vital.
These oils will also help his kidneys, hopefully. See if you
can get him on the Lifelong Wellness Pack. My friend who had
prostate cancer and renal failure is back in great health
now, after only four months on the protocol.
Adrianne - Anyone
heard of medullar kidney disease. My sister in law is
suffering from kidney stones and reoccurent kidney
infections because of it. She is always in pain and
always on antibiotics for the infections. What oils
could help her prevent kidney infections and the pain in the
kidney area?
Sharon - Chanca piedra is second to none
for getting rid of this. It's an herb.
Shannon - They thought I had medullar
kidney disease Turned out to be a very high uric acid
output. Lemon and grapefruit oils have been very helpful for
me
